THROUGH your pages, I would like to thank the community in Eglwyswrw, as well as friends from the extended area, for their generosity and their wonderful response to the Coffee Morning held in the village to support the community of Grenfell Tower in London.
The support received came in many forms; sponsorship from local businesses, lovely raffle prizes donated by other small businesses / individuals, and the effort of the local community to come together to make coffee, bake cakes, donate bottles and make financial donations, and generally to pull together in order to help people who find themselves in a situation of homelessness, utter devastation and grief.
A total of £3,000 was raised which is being given to the Red Cross to be used in the best possible way to improve these people’s current plight.
