WOMEN – and a few men – are expected to once again join forces to form a continuous line across the Cleddau Bridge next Saturday to mark International Women's Day.

Soroptimist International Milford Haven, Pembrokeshire Women’s Festival and the SGI Buddhist Group in Pembrokeshire are once again aiming, with your help, to span the Cleddau Bridge to celebrate International Women’s Day and 100 years since women first got the vote in the UK.

International Women’s Day is always March 8 but the event will be held at 11am on Saturday March 10.

Anyone wishing to take part is asked to join at either side of the bridge and bring a scarf in the suffragette colours of white, green or purple.

As there is limited parking at the bridge, parking is suggested at Neyland Marina or Llanion.

Started by the Suffragettes in the early 1900s, the first International Women’s day was celebrated in 1911.

The International Women’s Day campaign theme for 2018 is Press For Progress, tackling the issue of gender parity.

Those attending can follow this with an optional five mile walk around Westfield Pill in support of CARE’s Walk In Her Shoes 2018 campaign.
