A LONGSTANDING Neyland Town Council has been thanked for his years of service, as he steps down from his role.
Cllr Dennis Stolliday was presented with Torch Theatre vouchers at a farewell event on February 3.
Councillors, the town clerk, and friends gathered to see Mayor Margaret Brace present Cllr Stolliday with a Certificate of Appreciation for his many years service to the town and its people.
The Mayor thanked him for his hard work, and added that council meetings would be a lot quieter with him there.
Added deputy mayor Simon Hancock: "Dennis has been s good friend for over 20 years and it has been my privilege to have worked with him on the town council which he has faithfully served for getting on for two decades.
"He was vice chair of Neyland School governors and plays a huge role in the life of the rugby club.
"He is passionate in his love for Neyland, its heritage and people and we are lucky to have him and his wife Gill living in the community."
