THE World’s Biggest Coffee Morning came to Folly Farm recently, as animals and staff ‘pawsed’ to help Macmillan Cancer Support promote its annual fundraiser.

Now in its 28th year, the event which raised £1.2million in Wales in 2017, took a furry twist, as keepers, farm and zoo animals posed for pictures to support the charity, which raises money to help people living with cancer.

Giraffes, lemurs, squirrel monkeys, an owl, a pig, a tortoise and a mob of meerkats all happily posed for pictures with their keepers to encourage people to get together with friends and family, have fun and raise money for Macmillan.

No cake, animal crackers or tiger bread buns were on the menu, instead the animals enjoyed delicious coffee morning treats - including wax worms, meal worms and cabbage.

The World’s Biggest Coffee Morning is on Friday, September 28, and people are being urged to get together with friends, family and colleagues to raise some money and help people with cancer live life as fully as they can.

Marketing officer at Folly Farm, Gareth Morris said: “We were delighted to help Macmillan with this photoshoot, and the animals were over-the-moon with the extra, tasty treats they enjoyed.

“Every year in Folly Farm we hold a World’s Biggest Coffee Morning for staff. This photoshoot featuring some of our fabulous animals was a great opportunity to encourage other people to host their own coffee morning for Macmillan.”

Richard Pugh, head of services for Macmillan in Wales, said: "We’re really grateful to the staff and animals at Folly Farm for their brilliant support in getting behind coffee morning.”
