AN 18-year-old woman and a 22-year-old man were arrested after the third police callout to Milford Haven’s Mount Estate in less than a week.

Police were called following a report of a disturbance at a property at Hawthorn Path, Mount Estate, at around 7pm on October 18.

An 18-year-old woman from Milford Haven was arrested for public order offence of using threatening and abusive words. She has been released under investigation.

A 22-year-old man, of Milford Haven, was searched and arrested on suspicion of being in possession of an offensive weapon. He received a caution and was released from custody.

Officers offered words of advice to a large group of young people congregated in the area.

Police had previously been the estate on both Monday and Tuesday.

A 56-year-old was detained after armed police were engaged in an hour-long stand-off at the estate’s Birch Mead on Tuesday afternoon, October 16.

It is understood the man had threatened to blow up his flat and had been throwing items from the property.

Armed police had been heard shouting warnings to the man in the flat, before using a chainsaw on the door of the flat to get access.

The man appeared reasonably calm as he was led away, and was taken to hospital for treatment.

Inspector Roger Smith said: “Police were quickly on the scene to deal with the report, and to ensure the safety of both the man involved, and the public. I would like to thank local residents for their patience while we dealt with the incident.”

On Monday, October 15, emergency services were called to Chestnut Way after a woman was seen on the roof of a building.

Referring to that incident, a Dyfed-Powys Police spokesman said: “Concern was raised for the welfare of a female who was on the roof of a building on the Mount Estate, Milford Haven. On police attendance the female came down and returned to her home.”
