WHITLAND entertainers raised the roof at a rousing Welsh Night at the town's Dairies Club - and raised £1,000.

The event, which rounded off Whitland Week, was organised by local businessman and entertainer Clive Edwards, with the assistance of his wife, Nia.

The evening saw Clive at his inimitable best, treating the audience to his humour and fine voice, while Whitland and District Male Voice Choir presented a wide variety of items from their repertoire.

The event also showcased local talent in the form of compere Owain Davies and up-and-coming singer, Ceulyn Davies.

The money raised was divided between Whitland Week and Prostate Cymru, and Clive presented the charity's cheque to its Pembrokeshire Friends representatives, Ian Gravell, Brian Harries and John Daniels.

Prostate Cymru is dedicated to improve awareness of prostate cancer in Wales, as well as raising funds to improve equipment and train professionals.
