MAENCLOCHOG Community Hall was the venue for the latest successful concert performed by Haverfordwest Ladies Choir.

The concert an evening of supper and song held on Friday, November 2 raised a sum £528 in aid of the West Preseli Group of Churches.

As always Musical Director Dr Nancy Mann put together a varied programme of beautiful music with something to suit everyone, including pieces in remembrance of the Centenary of the Armistice Katheryn delivered a beautiful rendition of Ivor Novellos’ We’ll gather lilacs and Nancy encouraged the audience to sing along to If I were the only girl in the world and Keep the home fires burning.

The guest soloist was 10-year-old year six pupil at Ysgol Gymunedol Maenclochog Gweni Edwards who delighted everyone with three beautiful songs, Gweni was accompanied on the piano by Angela James.

As ever the choir were accompanied by Mr Gerald Nicholas and on this occasion the choir were also joined by Katheryn’s sister Kirsty Page.

Haverfordwest Ladies Choir also joined the Massed Choirs Service of Remembrance on Sunday, November 11 at Tabernacle Chapel Haverfordwest.

The highlight of the year for the ladies will be their Celebration of Christmas concert Friday, December 14 at 7.30pm at St. Mary’s Church Haverfordwest.
