FISHGUARD Women’s Institute was formed in 1937 and last year it celebrated 80 years.

This year; during October members held their annual charity knit-in, where members came along to knit little hats for new-born babies.

These have been sent to local hospitals for their maternity and labour ward.

“This year our chosen charity is the Paul Sartori Foundation” said Rowena Sturdgess, president of Fishguard WI.

“We found this was a “lively” way to raise funds, as we knitted and nattered and enjoyed the refreshments afterwards.”

Recently the members met up at The Railwaymens club in Fishguard to present a cheque to Rosalind Raymond, trustee of Paul Sartori Hospice at Home.

They raised £150.

“We are so grateful that Fishguard WI chose to support the Paul Sartori Hospice at Home services, every penny raised is used to put support back into our community,” said Rosalind.

The Paul Sartori Hospice at Home Service provides a range of services to Pembrokeshire people living in the final stages of a life-limiting illness.
