A FUNDRAISING appeal to help Haverfordwest-based Greenacres animal rescue is hoping to net £500 in time for Christmas.

Posting on Facebook, Liz Clarke of Dog Friendly Pembrokeshire wrote: “Lovely Jake in our photo has a great home where he will no doubt, like most of our members' pets, be spoilt with toys and treats over the Christmas period.

“Other dogs are not so lucky and Christmas in the rescue world is probably the toughest time of year. Huge numbers of animals need space, fuel and food bills increase while adoptions and donations decline.

“As a community of dog lovers here on Dog Friendly Pembrokeshire, we would like to support Greenacres, our local rescue, once again this Christmas and I am hoping that between us we can donate a collective £500 - of course, more would be great.

“So will you support a homeless animal in need this Christmas please?

“Every pound helps, and I am sure most of us can spare at least a couple. Together we can make a huge difference.

“To support the DFP appeal, please send your gift via Paypal, using the Friends and Family option to save fees, to payment@dogfriendlypembrokeshire.org to help another dog waiting in kennels to find a perfect home like Jake's.”
