GHOST stories at Christmas might sound odd, but it's actually a very traditional way to mark the change in seasons.

The practice of telling chilling tales when it is cold and dark outside predates the Victorians, but it was them that made it popular.

Although it has since fallen out of favour, HaverHub is bringing it back this year.

"It's something a little bit unusual, which I'm expecting to be a lot of fun. The response has been good so far, and I'm really excited to deliver something fun and different to the people of Haverfordwest this Christmas," said events manager Cicely Blacklaw-Jones.

This 12-plus event will feature two dramatic readings of Christmas ghost stories, as well live singing, and mince pies and mulled wine in the Depot at the back of the Old Post Office on Quay Street. The events are on December 13 and 14, with doors at 7pm.

HaverHub recommend you dress warmly, and not for glamour.

Tickets are £6 and will be available at the door on the night, or can be bought from ticketsource.co.uk/breaking-out-of-the-gallery
