A KILGETTY pub quiz night has raised more than £400 for a trust fund set up to help a little boy born with a benign tumour.

The quiz was held recently at the White horse Inn in aid of Rudy’s Trust Fund.

Little Rudy Cole was born with very rare multiple hemangiomas (benign tumors) on his face and body and in his brain.

When he was just one week old, the hemangiomas in his brain bled and left him fighting for his life.

Rudy thankfully survived, but was left with significant injury to his brain. Rudy has hemiparesis, low muscular tone and has lost his right field of vision. He also suffers from very difficult to control epilepsy. Despite all of this, he is a very happy boy, with a cheeky sense of humour and bags of determination.

The Trust Fund was set up to help assist with some of the therapy costs and specialist equipment that Rudy will need throughout his life.

At the White Horse, 12 teams turned out on an inclement night and had great fun trying to answer questions on a variety of topics under the able chairmanship of quizmaster Dilwyn Davies.

The quiz night was the brain child of Elaine Lewis and Wendy Thornley, and, with the help and support of all the regulars at the White Horse Inn and landlord Anthony Phillips, the group was able to hand over £430 to the Trust Fund.
