THE CLEDDAU Bridge could be closed to high sided vehicles tomorrow due to stormy weather, the county council has warned.

Storm Erik is due to hit Pembrokeshire tomorrow (Friday, February 8).

Heavy rain and high winds are forecast for tomorrow morning.

A Pembrokeshire County Council web warning said: "If the current forecast is correct, and the wind direction is as forecast, it is likely that the bridge will be closed to high sided vehicles, probably from around 6.30am through until 11.30am.

"Wind direction once again is difficult to predict, but if as predicted will mean closure to high sided vehicles."

The warning added: "Please note that the forecast may change, and with it details of any possible closures.

"Please note that our short code message service, texting BRIDGE or PONT to 80039, was giving notifications in the wrong languages this morning, and we would apologise for this. The language settings have been corrected, and messages should once again be received in the correct language."

A flood alert has also been issued for the Pembrokeshire Coast tomorrow for the morning and evening high tides (8:15am and 8pm Milford Haven) due to high offshore winds and waves.
