STRONG winds expected as Storm Gareth hits Pembrokeshire over the next 24 hours

The Met Office has issued a yellow wind weather warning, which is expected to impact the county until around 3pm tomorrow (Wednesday, March 13).

A statement by the Met Office said: “A spell of strong west to northwesterly winds is expected to develop across the Hebrides on Tuesday afternoon, then southwest Scotland late on Tuesday evening, before extending across much of England and Wales through Wednesday.

“Gusts of up to 50-55 mph are likely inland and 65 mph along western coasts. Winds will gradually ease during Wednesday afternoon.”

Bus and train services may be affected and delays for high-sided vehicles on exposed routes and bridges are likely.

The wind could bring down trees and power line and communities in coastal areas may be affected by spray or large waves,
