Drugs were discovered when a Milford Haven man ‘fell off the wagon’, a court has heard.
John Edward Norman, of Cromwell Road, pleaded guilty to Class B drug possession when he appeared at Haverfordwest magistrates court on Tuesday, March 12.
Abul Hussain, prosecuting, said Norman was arrested on October 3 and 2.81 grams of amphetamine were found when he was searched at Haverfordwest police station.
The court heard that Norman, 53, made full admissions when interviewed.
Mike Kelleher, defending, said Norman was arrested at his home on the day in question, and had already been punished by the court for criminal damage and cannabis offences.
“This drug had to be sent for analysis.
“This offence arises from the same facts, he paid costs and a victim surcharge on the last occasion and was fined £200 for a small amount of cannabis.
“He actually thought it was all over and had forgotten that the drug had been sent off for analysis, some four months later this resurfaces.”
Mr Kelleher added that Norman was ‘having problems at home’ at the time of the offence and previously had a drug problem.
“He thought that he had got over that, unfortunately at that time he fell off the wagon and bought some drugs, which the police confiscated. He has not had anything since and is working.”
Magistrates imposed a 12-month conditional discharge and ordered Norman to pay a £20 surcharge.
A destruction order was made for the seized drugs.
