CRIME in the Tenby, Narberth, Saundersfoot, Amroth and Carew areas has seen a general decline month-on-month, based on the latest figures.

In October the number of offences in the whole area - which includes three policing districts - fell by around 30 per cent from the previous month.

The November total was 112, against 118 in October.

This rose to 124 for December, and has now dropped to 105 for January.

The Tenby town area saw a total of 34 crimes, compared to 51 the previous month. Violence and sexual offence reports were 12, down from 16; anti-social behaviour dropped, from 11 to nine; drug offences dropped, from nine to two; criminal damage and arson from six to four, drugs from nine to two; and shoplifting from four to one.

In the Tenby rural area, January crimes totalled 30, the same as December.

There was a variation in the amount of public order offences - from four to nil; anti-social behaviour rose from three to six; criminal damage and arson - from four to three; violence and sexual offences, from 12 to 14; other theft - from three to two. There were also two burglaries and two vehicle crime.

The Narberth policing area - which includes Templeton, Tavernspite, Llawhaden and Maenclochog – dropped from 43 in December to 41 in January.

Anti-social behaviour offences rose, from 10 to 12, but other theft numbers dropped from seven to two. There was also six burglaries, up from one; six criminal damage and arson crimes, up from two; two of shoplifting; two other crime and eight violence and sexual offences crimes, down from 18.
