Three people were assaulted when a drunk man attempted to return to a pub which had ejected him.

Darryan Bolstridge Edwards, of Princess Royal Way, Haverfordwest, pleaded guilty to three charges of assault by beating when he appeared at Haverfordwest magistrates court on Tuesday, March 19.

A charge of using threatening, abusive words or behaviour likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress was withdrawn by the prosecution.

Vaughan Pritchard-Jones, prosecuting, said Edwards, 25, was thrown out of a Haverfordwest pub around midnight on February 9 because he was ‘being stupid’.

“He was standing on chairs and generally being a nuisance.”

Edwards returned to the pub at 2.30am, and managed to push past door-staff when told he was not allowed in.

He punched backwards catching a doorman under his chin as he was being escorted outside.

Edwards then attempted to run at door-staff several times to get back inside, and threw a punch at another doorman’s cheek as he was being pushed back.

A female friend who tried to intervene was slapped by Edwards as he flung his arms around recklessly.

The court heard that she had recently received £250 lip-filler treatment, and the assault had caused a small lump to form.

Mr Pritchard-Jones added: “CCTV shows 10 to 11 minutes of the defendant acting in a very disorderly manner while the door-staff were trying to stop him from getting back into the premises.”

In interview Edwards stated he had no clear recollection of events because of his level of intoxication at the time.

Mark Layton, defending, said Edwards went to apologise to the staff personally after leaving the police station.

“He says drink got the better of him on this occasion.”

Edwards was ordered to pay £100 compensation to each victim and fined £200.

Magistrates ordered him to pay £85 costs and a £30 surcharge.

The chairman of the bench said: “I hope in future when you go out you do not drink so much and make an embarrassment of yourself."
