TWO kind-hearted sisters are to lose their long locks for charity in support of their great-auntie's cancer battle.

Megan and Mabli King are currently fundraising for the Little Princess Trust, which makes wigs for youngsters who have lost their hair, ahead of their Big Chop event later this month.

Explained their mum, Rhiannon: "In late 2018, my Auntie Julie was given the dreadful news that her cancer has returned for the sixth time.

"During this journey, my auntie has faced some unwelcome side effects from her treatment - the most visible one being hair loss.

"She then made a truly brave decision to shave her head. She is such a true inspiration to all of our family, and we all aspire to be as brave and strong as she.

"When my eldest daughter - Megan, aged 11 - heard her auntie was losing her hair, she instantly came out with: 'can I give her mine?', shortly followed by her sister - Mabli, who is seven.

"So following lots of talking, and making sure they understand what they will be doing, my two beautiful, kind-hearted daughters are looking to raise funds for the Little Princess Trust by having their long locks cut off on April 24."

Megan and Mabli, who live in Llanfallteg and are pupils at the village's Ysgol Bro Brynach, will have their hair cut at Whitland's Enigma salon and will then give it to the Little Princess Trust to make into wigs.

Added Auntie Julie: "I'm so proud of the girls, and feel honoured that they are doing this for me."
