A CAMPAIGN offering free or low cost, sailing and windsurfing taster sessions is set to return next month to five locations in Pembrokeshire.

The Push the Boat Out (PTBO) campaign is run by the RYA, the national body for all forms of recreational, competitive and professional boating.

The West Wales coast will be busy with Neyland YC, Fishguard Bay YC, Pembrokeshire Performance Sailing Academy, Saundersfoot SC, Tenby SC, as well as Tresaith Mariners SC and New Quay YC in southern Ceredigion, all involved.

PTBO open days are aimed at complete novices, as well as more experienced sailors, everyone is welcome. All kit and safety equipment will be provided.

Milford Mercury:

Fishguard will be giving people the opportunity to try dinghy sailing or rowing on May 12, from 11am to 4pm, all above the age of eight welcome – 11 or older for the rowing.

Neyland Yacht Club is offering one hour yacht sailing taster sessions with an RYA sailing coach and helm around the Milford Haven Waterway on May 18, between 9.30am and 5.30pm.

Pembrokeshire Performance Sailing Academy will be doing exciting and fun introductions to dinghy sailing on the beautiful Cleddau Estuary, hosted by PPSA with experienced instructors to guide anyone through the process, on May 26 between 10am and 4.30pm.

Saundersfoot will be giving anyone the chance to view the club, meet the members and try free sailing sessions on May 11, from 9.30am. There may also be rowing opportunities, contact the club for details.

Tenby will be giving adults and families the chance to try sailing in dinghies, cruisers and RIBS on May 11, from 9.30am to 5pm. There will be morning and afternoon sessions with food and bar available lunchtime and afterwards. It is free, but please contact lewisedward1@googlemail.com if you are planning to go.

"There will be a wide variety of opportunities from the traditional dinghy sailing, to larger boats, powerboating and other watersports.
