LAST Saturday was the Centenary Open Day for teams of three with the best two stableford scores counting on all holes.

Forty-seven teams of three took part. The winning team won on the count back on the last hole on the front nine, which is unusual for the count to go that far back such was the closeness of the scores; with six points between first and fifth place.

Two teams who would have been in the top five places were disqualified; one for having no signatures on their cards and the other for not having any handicaps displayed on the card; two things that is essential on all cards in competitions.

The highlight of the day was a hole-in-one by Anne Robinson.
