Gents

THE 2013/2014 winter league commenced on Saturday after the first round had been completed an auction was held for the players conducted by Peter Harries.

The weather conditions were awful with very strong winds and driving rain where a tree between the fourteenth tee and the fifteenth green was blown down. The players going out early morning had the best of the day; one score to mention amongst the afternoon players was Mark Summons playing off a handicap of six, he came in with 35 points which was exceptional for the conditions.

The clubs annual general meeting will be held in the restaurant on Tuesday, December 3 at 7.30pm.

Ladies

LAST Tuesday, ten ladies played in their weekly stableford competition.

Ladies AGM will take place on Thursday, November 14 commencing at 7.30 pm.

Seniors

LAST Thursday the seniors played a stableford competition when 25 played; this competition was the last qualifier for points for the Colin Reynolds Salvers. The best score was 41 points by Gwyn Scale with Mike Durward in runners-up spot with 40 points.

Presentation was carried out by seniors captain Gwyn French. The next seniors competition will be the first turkey trot in a Stableford format held on (today) Thursday, first draw is at 10.30am.

THE club presentation evening will be held on Saturday, November 9 in the club lounge commencing 7.30 for 8pm. Juniors

THE junior presentation was held on Sunday 3rd November in the club lounge at 3.30 pm; with many parents and family along with club members attending.

Prior to the presentation the R.A.O.B greensomes competitions was played by the junior and adults with the trophies being supplied by the Neyland Lodge; after completing the competitions all players was treated to sausage and chips prepared by Barry and Emma and their Staff.

The Raffle was held prior to the presentation when the forty prizes donated by Club members and friends; Owain Picton junior treasurer thanked club members parents and friends who donated the prizes.

The Club Captain John Price welcomed all who attended with Owain Picton carrying out the M.C., duties.

Simon Nicholas the new junior organiser thanked all the sponsors who have donated money and prizes throughout the year to help fund the juniors. The presentation was carried out by Club Captain John Price and Simon Nicholas with Steve Arnold of Port Engineering Limited handing out the monthly medals which he sponsored; Barry Summons presenting the B.D.S Shield on Behalf of Alan Summons; Steve Brown Club Championship with Nathan Day standing in for Leigh Evans who sponsored the mini golf prizes.

Nigel Roberts who has stepped down as junior organiser after eighteen years of duties was unable to attend to receive a present in the form of a tankard from the junior section; the presentation to Nigel will be done at a later date. In his absence Owain gave a brief account of all the achievements which the junior section had obtained during his years.

It was announced that the award for the most improved junior golfer of the year was Liam Fawcett and the junior golfer of the year Josh Lewis these awards were chosen by the junior section officers.

The junior captain for 2014 is Callum Day and Josh Lewis is vice captain.

Over the next couple of weeks the junior section will hold matches against Trefloyne Golf Club junior section playing at Trefloyne on Sunday, November 10 and at home on Sunday, November 17.
