Championship:

Narberth v Bedlinog

Since beating Newcastle Emlyn on December 30th, it hasn't been plain sailing for Narberth.

A heavy home defeat in the National Cup to Bedwas was no disaster, but it was followed by a league loss to struggling Rhydyfelin before the clash with Pontypool at the Lewis Lloyd Ground was called off.

But Sean Gale's men lie third and still have every chance of another top two finish as they prepare for sixth placed Bedlinog.

Lewys Gibby and Ianto Griffiths are the preferred half backs, while Moritz Neumann will play on the wing, on permit from Tenby.

James Stephenson returns to the 20-man squad for the first time since injuring his shoulder in November - and second row Alex Jenkins will again lead the side as The Otters look to return to winning ways.

Narberth: Nick Gale, Liam Hutchings, Kieran Jones, Paul Davies, Moritz Neumann, Ianto Griffiths, Lewys Gibby, Bradley Davies, Dan Smith, Tom Slater, Jake Simm, Alex Jenkins (capt), Tom Powell, Sean Jenkins, Steffan Phillips. Replacements: Rhys Davies, Rhodri Owens, Ryan Banner, Jonathan Rogers, James Stephenson.

Division One West:

Penclawdd v Crymych

Crymych's only league win so far came at home to Penclawdd, and what they wouldn't give for a repeat of that 40-12 success this weekend.

Randall Williams' team are bottom and 14 points adrift of safety and Llanelli Wanderers, and given they play second bottom Tycroes tomorrow - that margin will most likely increase if the Preseli Men lose here.

The visitors will now have to cope without prop Jason Nicholls after his facial injury sustained in the 46-12 loss at The Wanderers in January, and will look to the likes of No 8 Guto Davies to get them going up front.

The ice-cool goal kicking of Ifan Phillips will again be important if the visitors are to get a result, but in truth, it needs a big display from everyone involved.

If that doesn't happen, then by 5pm tomorrow, the Preseli Men could be looking at mission impossible to stay up.

Tenby United v Llangennech

Tenby's good run of form was halted by a 24-10 loss to Aberystwyth on January 20th, and they haven't played since.

But prior to that Chris James' men had made great strides with five straight league wins, and they will want to return to that form tomorrow against fifth placed Llangennech.

The visitors lost 26-19 at Penclawdd in their last game, but beat The Seasiders 21-13 back in October.

But Tenby showed enough that day to give them hope of revenge here, with brothers Matty and Jonny Morgan leading a backline with the ability to attack with venom.

Given recent conditions, it will be interesting to see if the powerful Pat Roberts is deployed at back row or centre, while the likes of Andrew Cooke and Roy Osborn were also in good form pre the international break.

James' team can at least play without pressure, well clear of relegation danger and little hope of promotion, but they will want to improve on eighth place before the season is out.

Division Two West:

Fishguard v Pontarddulais

The Seagulls have had to dig deep this season after a number of injuries - with Gareth Adamson and Ed Bendall the latest to suffer knocks from an already hampered backline.

But given they are nine points clear of the danger zone with games in hand, they will know a win here could all but secure league safety.

However, it won't be easy against a third placed Pontarddulais team that beat them 28-0 in October.

The Moors will be heavy, but Fishguard can mix it up front, and old heads like skipper Gavin Walsh, Gwil Evans, Luke Freebury, Chris Shousha and Simon James are more than used to a tight forward battle in tough conditions.

St Clears v Yr Hendy

St Clears have some breathing space as they lie seven points clear of the bottom two - but I suspect Mike Jones and his players are braced for this survival battle to go to the wire.

New No 10 Jake Philpin as injected life into The Carmarthenshire Saints, and it was his late conversion against bottom side Llanybydder which secured a vital 7-7 draw.

The game before that saw a tremendous scrummaging display from the pack inpsired a win over Carmarthen Athletic, and led by hooker Dafydd Page, the home side will want more of the same tomorrow if they are to have any chance against league leaders Yr Hendy.

In fact, the latter surprised everyone by asking for uncontested scrums from the start in their win at Fishguard in January. I suspect the home side will be livid if they try the same thing tomorrow.

Whitland v Tumble

At home, this is a game you would back The Borderers to win against a Tumble team currently in eighth place.

But the visitors will arrive revitalised after four straight league wins that have taken them out of the bottom two.

Whitland will also now have to cope with the loss of flanker Ryan Michael due to work commitments, but have lost just once in the league all season, and Dan Mason and Gareth Bennett have a squad now strong enough to cope with losing players.

The Borderers are second, 11 points off Yr Hendy but with three games in hand, and a win here is a must to keep the pressure on.

Josh Thomas returns to partner namesake Jonathan in the centre, and through Raff Williams and Dai Ebsworth - the home side will have plenty of experience in the second row and pack, with Danny Evans also coming in at flanker.

Whitland: Scott Newton, Liam Price, Jonathan Thomas, Josh Thomas, Sean Coles, Nico Setaro, Tom Parry, Tomos Evans, Marc Jones (capt), Michael Ryan, Dai Ebsworth, Raff Williams, Ryan Morgan, Danny Evans, Jack Mason. Replacements: Gethin Lewis, Aaron Mayne, Micaiah Jones, Ben Kirk, Scott Candler.

Division Three West A:

Aberaeron v Pembroke

Pembroke would have been very frustrated to have had their game with Llangwm postponed last week, given they have fixtures to catch up on and a National Bowl quarter final looming.

They are four points off leaders Milford with three games in hand, but one of their trickiest tests in their title run in comes here.

Aberaeron is always a tough place to go, and they have a big physical pack with the experienced Tudur Jenkins among those impressing this season.

Half backs Rhodri Jenkins and Gareth Jones are also dangerous, and the Pembroke pairing of Tom Lewis and Toby Smith won't enjoy the time and space they had in their 71-22 win at St Davids last time out.

But The Scarlets have the size and physicality to match anyone up front, and the back row of Dom Colman, Rhodri Walters, and Sam Smith were again formidable in that win - and the fact they still have Billy Wood as an option in that area shows their squad depth.

Geraint Lewis and co can go in with confidence - but will also know they can't let recent standards drop if they are keep their winning momentum.

Haverfordwest v St Davids

The recent break may have come at a good time for Haverfordwest, who post-Christmas suffered defeats to Cardigan and Tregaron.

They did manage to beat a depleted Pembroke Dock Quins team inbetween, but Bruce Evans' side themselves were hit badly by unavailability of players throughout January.

Evans will possibly use the rest of this campaign to build for the next one, and youngsters like Ollie Hughes, Josh Atherton and Liam Manwaring continue to grow in stature.

St Davids themselves have managed to bring through some young players this season, with the likes of Zak Morgan, Matty Mcleod, and Luke Brooks all stepping up to the first XV.

They are a more cohesive unit than the one which struggled early on in the season, and will want to improve on their 43-0 home loss to The Blues back in October.

Laugharne v Tregaron

Laugharne have crept quietly into the title race, and have a favourable run of fixtures before a potentially crucial clash with Pembroke on March 24th.

No 8 Mikey Williams has 16 tries to his name this season, and has been a major factor in getting his side on the front foot, giving No 10 Owain Thomas the time and space to release an exciting backline.

They will be clear favourites to keep their form going again tomorrow, although Tregaron are capable of playing good open rugby themselves, and fought back well in their last match to beat Haverfordwest 21-17.

No 10 and captain Huw Bonner calls the shots well for the Mid-Wales team, but whether his side can secure enough ball against Williams, Carl Smith and the rest of the Laugharne pack to do real damage out wide remains to be seen.

Milford Haven v Cardigan - postponed due to the funeral of a Cardigan supporter.

Neyland v Pembroke Dock Quins

The Quins won the first clash between these two 13-11 at Bierspool, and we could be in or another tight contest tomorrow.

Neyland have not played since January 20th, a 5-3 win over Llangwm after which player coach Steve Martin admitted his side were very fortunate.

Much has been said about their exciting young backline and the centre partnership of Alex Codd and George Williams, but the battle up front will again be vital on a surface likely to be heavy after so much recent rain.

The ball carrying of the Buirds brothers could be a big factor if they play, and experienced skipper and second row Mark James will want his pack to be aggressive against the visitors - who themselves will look to the likes of Huw Baker and No 8 Stef Halwood to make inroads.

Ossie Boswell's side struggled for player availability post-Christmas due to the shutdown, but when at full strength they too have an exciting back line led by centre Thomas Doyle.

If either side can get quick ball this could be a good spectacle with plenty of pace on show out wide, but given recent conditions, a dog fight is more likely.
