Division One:

Carew 0-4 Hakin United

HAKIN United strolled to a comfortable four-goal victory at Carew - just four days before the same sides meet in the Senior Cup semi final at the Conygar Bridge Meadow Stadium.

Despite missing some key regular players, The Vikings showed their intent by taking a two-goal cushion with barely ten minutes on the clock.

Nicky Woodrow nodded home Adam John’s cross for an early opener, and Justin Harding added a second minutes later - as Ryan Wilson started the move and Woodrow flicked the ball to Harding, the striker controlled then with his chest and struck a vicious shot into the net.

Kristan Bennett’s Vikings added a third on 35 minutes, as Jake Merry’s well measured through ball was taken by Shane Walsh in his stride and he subsequently chipped keeper Tom Davies from 20 yards for a sublime finish.

The visitors put the result beyond doubt in the 75th minute, as Walsh’s wicked drive was parried by Davies, and Jonty Bennett quickly followed up and tucked in the rebound.

The Rooks, who were playing in the league for the first time in 2018, will now need to find a way of bouncing back quickly when the sides re-unite at Haverfordwest on Wednesday.
