Senior Cup Round 1: Fishguard Sports 0-4 Goodwick United

A brilliant second half hat-trick by Jordan Griffiths sealed a comfortable victory for Goodwick against derby rivals Fishguard Sports.

Division Two outfit Fishguard came into this cup clash after winning five league games on the bounce, and win Goodwick currently top of Division One, the stage was set for an intense clash.

And it remained 0-0 until three minutes before half time, before the visitors broke the deadlock as Matty Delaney’s corner was met by a firm Kieran O’Brien header.

But early in the second half Fishguard were reduced to 10 men when outfield player Matthew Harries handled Lee Hudgell's header on the line - and Griffiths made no mistake with the resultant penalty.

On 65 minutes, the deadly Griffiths buried a low effort into the far corner past Dean Hopson - and five minutes later the striker completed his treble, latching onto a defence splitting pass by Matty Delaney and racing clear to score.

Wayne O'Sullivan's side now face another tough trip in round two, away to Monkton Swifts.
