Division Three West A: Llangwm 3-43 Aberaeron

Aberaeron produced a strong first-half performance at Pill Parks as a hat trick from centre Tom Slinger set up a bonus point win.

Llangwm came into the game in improved form and actually took the lead through scrum half Luke Hayman’s early penalty, but it was one way traffic for the rest of the half as the MidWales side deared into a 3-38 lead.

Hayman started with 53-year-old coach Bruce Evans as his half back partner, pressed into action after two late withdrawals, although he inadvertently earned a 10 minute rest after being yellow carded.

For Aber there were first half tries for the strong running Slinger (3), Dyfrig Dafis, Sion Evans, and Morgan Llewellyn, four of them converted by No 10 Rhydian Jenkins.

Llangwm improved after the break and were far more ceompetetive, but Dafis grabbed the only second half try as Aberaeron made the long trek home with a bonus point win in the bag.

This Saturday, they are in National Plate action away to Lampeter Town, while The Wasps host Pembroke in the annual Palmer Cup, with neither side in league action.
