Manderwood Pembrokeshire League Division 1: Clarbeston Road 7-2 Milford United

Clarbeston Road AFC officially opened their new look home at Knock Playing Fields on Saturday - but Milford United briefly threatened to spoil the party before falling away in the second half.

Earlier in the day, Clarbie had unveiled their  improvements at their ground which was officially opened by the chairman of the West Wales Football Association, Roger Wood, but The Robins were undaunted as Lewys Tee fired them into an early lead.

Home striker Jason Griffiths turned the tide though with two quick goals, but Milford responded as Jason Hicks’ shot struck Clarbie player Matt Davies, and deflected past home keeper Chris Lo and into the net.

But with the visitors eyeing a first point of the season, Clarbie took control with two quick goals after half time, and again it was Griffiths who did the finishing as he secured a four goal haul.

Joseph Griffiths marked his first team debut with a brace of goals himself, and Ben Barnett scored to complete a one sided second half.

It means The Robins remain the only side in the top flight yet to get off the mark, while Clarbie rise to seventh in the table.
