The Pembrokeshire College football side will represent Wales in the UK 7-a-side finals after becoming national champions in Cardiff on Tuesday.

They played four 15 minute group games, beating Gwent Usk College 3-0, drawing with Cymoedd 1-1, beating Cambria Vale 2-1 and finishing with a 7-0 victory over Brecon.

That meant a quarter final against Llandrillo, which they won 3-0, before another meeting with Cymoedd and a 2-0 success.

It meant a final with Coleg Sir Gar, and goals from Ben Fawcett and Billy Lawrence gave them a 2-1 win.

The squad will now take part in the UK finals in Nottingham in April, a multi-sport competition held over a three day period.

“We have a special group of really talented players,” said coach Steve Briers.

"As a College we have always competed well but now we are right up there amongst them. We are going well in the Welsh section of the ECFA Leagues on a Wednesday afternoon and the Development side are looking strong as well.

"We are training at the 3G pitch at Ysgol Caer Elen which has helped and obviously we use the Bridge Meadow as well for our 11-a-side matches.

"But it's all about the players we have. They are the main thing."

Pembrokeshire College squad: Dylan Noot, Jonny White, Jay Power, Leo Sarrionandie, Tyler Page, Jack Wilson, Jake Merry, Ben Fawcett, Camron Thomas, Jack Wilson, Billy Lawrence, Harry Jones, Ollie Wheeler.
