WRU Women’s League Division One: Ynysddu Ladies 25-17 Haverfordwest Ladies
Haverfordwest Ladies again struggled for numbers as they kicked off their match with just 12 players on Sunday.
It has been a tough start for the side with key players like Awen Prysor, Steph Harris and Lucy French having been away on regional or international duty.
Still, the Lady Blues took the lead with a try from flanker Jana Neumann, but the home side stormed back with four unconverted tries to lead 20-5 half time.
But the away side showed great character in the second half as tries from Nina Colville and Jess Charles, one converted by Holly Couzens, brought the score back to 20-17 and gave them hope of an unlikely victory.
But cruelly, a late interception try not only sealed an Ynysddu win, but took a bonus point away from Gareth Charles’ team.
Colville and Lyn Ward, both out of retirement to help out, were adjudged joint women of the match winners for the away side.
Haverfordwest will look to bounce back at home to Nelson on Sunday.
