Manderwood Pembrokeshire League Division 1 (2pm):

Carew 4-2 Saundersfoot Sports

When these two met in September, it was The Rooks who prevailed 2-1 - and they need three points again here to keep in touch in the title race.

Carew haven't played in the league since November 24th when they thumped Narberth 7-1 - with a hat trick from Scott Ferney who was in prolific form pre-Christmas.

Saundersfoot were beaten 2-1 by St Clears back on December 15th but stand 11 points clear of the bottom two, and Sam Franklin and co can be confident they'll be back in the top flight next year.

The visitors won't roll over, but I'd back Carew here.

Clarbeston Road 1-3 Merlins Bridge

Bridge are another side who have to hit the ground running after Christmas.

With their games in hand this represents as good a chance as they have to win the title since they last won it in 2011/12.

But they are currently one of five in the running and there is no room to let up. Matthew D'Ivry's side have attacking power in abundance but have also been solid defensively, and will be favourites against a Clarbie side that has struggled for consistency.

The new partnership up front of Jason Griffiths and Sean Seymour Davies has yielded goals, but the absence of key players from last season has hit them hard.

They will threaten Bridge, but I can't see them beting them Saturday.

Goodwick United 4-1 St Clears

Goodwick currently top the table - but Wayne O'Sullivan and co won't be under any illusions.

The four sides seemingly chasing them all have games in hand.

The goals have come mainly from Jordan Griffiths but it's no secret they are a solid outfit all round, and St Clears will have their work cut out at Phoenix Park.

The Carmarthenshire Saints have done well thus far though and deservedly lie sixth, and gave Goodwick a game first time around before losing 4-2.

But I can't see past the leaders here.

Milford United 2-5 Narberth

Milford have gone through a torrid time of late, and the suspension of skipper Scott Griffiths hasn't helped matters.

They are a young side which can only bode well but seem to lack a cutting edge, and too often promising performances have gone to waste.

Adrian Hutchings will know the wait for a first point can't go on much longer, and these are the sorts of games they must perform in between now and May.

Narberth though have picked up after an awful start, mainly due to the form of Tony Evans and Jordan Williams.

They beat Herbie 5-2 last time out and if their front men fire at Marble Hall, I think they'll take another three points.

Monkton Swifts 3-4 Hakin United

Ah, my favourite type of prediction this.

Where I see goals at both ends, change my mind several times, and then finish up unconvinced I'm right.

This is huge for both and it's hard to gage how strong Monkton will be. They were well beaten by Merlins Bridge in the West Wales Cup early this month, but were missing a host of players. It remains to be seen of they are back at full tilt Saturday.

Hakin meanwhile have hit form after an unconvincing start. Nicky Woodrow appears to be back at his best and they did appear to have shored up defensively before that frantic 7-3 with over Clarbie last time out.

Of course both sides have been three weeks without a game. But if they both perform, this could be a cracker.

Pennar Robins 3-1 Herbrandston

Pennar have not played in the league since December 1st, when a 3-1 win over Narberth cemented an improved run of form that saw them hold Bridge to a 2-2 draw the week before.

I suspect they are a better side than eighth in the table suggests, and Chris Lloyd will want three more points Saturday against a Herbie side who like Milford, simply can't get going in the league.

They were beaten 5-2 at Narberth last time out - and have to shore up defensively in the New Year or they will be relying on results home and away against The Robins to stay up.

Again, it's hard to predict how both teams will react to a long lay off, but my money's on Pennar.
