Senior Cup Round 2: Narberth 1-4 Carew

A late flurry of second half goals saw Carew brush aside Narberth at Jesse Road to reach the quarter finals.

It took an hour before the opening goal, and it was the hosts who took the lead when Ben John struck from the edge of the box and beat Tom Davies.

However, The Rooks immediately responded when Jordan Richards struck two goals in the space of five minutes. Richards got on the end of Jack Christopher’s flick on from a Lloyd Hughes cross to level matters, and then the striker slotted home from a one-on-one with home keeper Jason Jones.

On the 75 minute mark the visitors grabbed their third goal of the tie as Hughes struck from a tight angle to beat Jones.

The visitors continued to press and were rewarded with a fourth goal in the 78th minute as Scott Ferney broke clear and slotted into the far corner.

Carew travel to Division Two side Solva in the last eight of the competition, the date of the tie is yet to be confirmed.
