Senior Cup quarter final: Pennar Robins 3-0 Monkton Swifts
Pennar Robins gained a comfortable three-goal victory against fellow Division One side Saundersfoot Sports at Bush Camp, to reach the semi-final stage of the Senior Cup.
Chris Lloyd’s Robins scored in the 15th minute, when the hosts were awarded a penalty and Ben Adams took responsibility and made no mistake against Sam Franklin from 12 yards.
Saundersfoot's best chance of the first half fell to Geoff Marsh, but the striker failed to draw a save from Stuart James when through on goal.
After the break and the Robins began to turn the screw and were rewarded five minutes after the interval when they added their second of the afternoon. A floated free-kick in the box was met by a looping header by Josh Dearsley which fell kindly to Luke Phillips to score at the far post.
Pennar added a vital third in the 75th minute, good work by Tom Grimwood and Adams set-up Sam Southcott who steered his low shot from six yards into the far corner.
Pennar manager Chris Lloyd said: “We controlled matters from the first whistle till the last.”
Meanwhile Sports’ Sam Coleman said: “We never really got going."
