Manderwood Pembrokeshire League 1: Saundersfoot Sports 4-2 Milford United

Saundersfoot Sports came out on top in a highly competitive game against Milford United in challenging conditions.

The Sports picked up their fourth win of the season, while the Robins would have felt on another day they could have picked up a draw.

The visitors took an early lead when Ashley Mathias got on the end of a half cleared corner, cut inside from the right and unleashed low drive from 20 yards.

The Sports equalised midway through the first period as Nick Cope struck a powerful 15 yard volley.

Eleven minutes before half time the Sports took the lead as Rhys Hewson struck a 35 yard right foot screamer that flew in the top corner.

Ten minutes after the interval and the Sports extended their lead with a third, Hewson struck another vicious strike and Jake Webster profited from the rebound.

Adrian ‘Boo’ Hutchings’ Robins outfit hit back as Mathias made no mistake from the penalty spot to give his side a fighting chance of getting something.

But the Sports wrapped up proceedings when they grabbed a crucial fourth, Richard Cope headed in at a corner to complete the scoring.
