West Wales Cup Round 4: Malsters Sports 0-4 Carew

Carew gained an impressive victory at Malsters Sports to reach the quarter finals of the West Wales Intermediate Cup.

The Rooks reached the last four last season, and judging by this performance against the Swansea League Division One outfit they will fancy their chances and are just two games away from reaching the final at the Liberty Stadium.

The visitors took the lead in the 24th minute, Shaun Whitfield scoring with a superb 25 yard volley which flew in the top corner.

Ten minutes later and Rob Scourfield’s team extended the lead, Sam Christopher got on the end of a Jordan Richards square ball in the box and the former made no mistake from six yards.

The Rooks stayed on top in the second period, and were rewarded with a third goal on the 70 minute mark, Jordan Richards drilling home from 15 yards.

Eight minutes from full time, Scott Ferney added the fourth with a clinical close range finish which deservedly secured their place in the quarter finals.
