Lexi Allen from Mary Immaculate School competed in the Year 4 Backstroke at the Urdd National Swimming Gala at the Cardiff International Swimming Pool.
And she excelled herself to come away with a bronze medal.
There were two heats with Lexi winning hers in a time of 21.50 seconds, 2.50 seconds quicker than when she competed locally in November. This result put Lexi through to the finals where she finished with an even quicker time of 21.15 seconds, putting her third for backstroke in Wales.
Lexi trains three nights a week with Haverfordwest Seals and has been with the club since the age of 7. She enjoys her pool time and mixing with the other club swimmers and is always keen to train and take part in galas across West Wales.
Mary Immaculate were also represented in the finals by the Year 6 Girls Relay Team who competed in the medley relay where they knocked 4 seconds off their fastest time. clocking 1:31.50 to finish 12th overall.
The school and all parents are said to be very proud of their achievements, not only representing the school but their county as well.
Thanks were also given to Mrs Townsend, deputy head of Mary Immaculate, who was pool side with the girls in Cardiff and to the parents who transported and supported the girls.
