Back with a bang.

Milford Haven fighter David Round returned to K1 fighting last weekend and came away with a superb and hard fought win.

The 32-year-old took on the highly regarded veteran Avi Jack at the Road to Destiny event in Manchester in the 88kg class, the 13th different class Round has fought at.

He walked out to the Jimi Jameson tune 'I'm always here', the song adopted by Milford Haven RFC this season, before three brutal rounds ensued.

Round landed some leg kicks and punch combinations early on, but towards the end of second three-minute period Jack began to read the shots and then went on the offence in the third.

But it was the Milford man who prevailed with the judges scoring it 30-27, 30-27, 29-28 in his favour.

"Going into the third I felt I was two rounds up," he told Telegraph Sport.

"But Avi came back and his confidence grew as I tired and he pinched the last one but the judges had it in favour of me."

And Round, who later declared 'the king is back in K1', was quick to thank those who had helped him prepare.

"Sam Clark as always was great in my corner. I had a lot of support online as it was streamed live and thankyou to everyone who watched.

"And also to Jamie Lewis for the pad work and Dean Aldred my training partner."

Round thanked his main sponsors JP Scaffolding, as well as LPA Impact, Support 81, Granicol Ltd, L Greggain & Co Ltd, Steve Evans at Studio 9 Custom Tattoo, Training Mask, Stuart Lloyd Carpentry, Sweet Sweat, Battle Body Clothing, Ian Smith Builders, Pain Game, Phil Hart, North East CBD Oils, The Lounge, David Fairbairn, Gordon Bennett's Fish and Chip Shop and the Victoria Inn.
