Five Pembrokeshire weightlifters competed in the Welsh Senior National Championships at Bangor University with great success.
Lotty Whalley from Haverfordwest High VC, achieved fourth place and broke the under 15 Welsh snatch, clean and jerk and total records. She also broke the British clean and jerk record with 47kg snatch and 70kg clean and jerk - and a 117kg total.
Niamh Roach of Bath University won a bronze medal with a 53kg snatch, and a 64kg clean and jerk for a total of 117kg
James Hart from Valero won gold with a 105kg snatch, and clean and jerk of 120kg, with a total of 225kg.
Louis Thomas from University of South Wales – won a bronze medal with a snatch of 100kg and a clean and jerk of 131kg, for a total of 231kg.
Anita Madan, Swansea University, struck gold with a 72kg snatch and 86kg clean and jerk for a 158kg total.
All five lifters, along with SAW team mate Chloe Hood, will compete at the British Universities Championships in Twickenham in April.
