Pembrokeshire trainer Rebecca Curtis will have a horse running in Saturday's Grand National at Aintree after Joe Farrell was confirmed as the final entrant.

And punters in Wales are set to collect over £10 million from bookies if he happens to win.

The 2018 Scottish National winner, known for his excellent stamina and staying power, snuck in with the lightest weight at number 40 following the defection of Pairofbrowneyes. He is a huge favourite in his home country having been trained his entire life by Curtis, based in Dinas Cross.

Curtis, a Cheltenham Festival-winning trainer whose Teaforthree came third in the 2013 National, has high hopes for her charge who could be the first Welsh horse to win the showpiece £1million Aintree race since 1905.

His odds have slashed from 40/1 down to just 18/1 (odds courtesy of  SportNation.bet) with the Welsh betting public getting firmly behind one of their most fancied prospects in years.

And should he go two better than Curtis' Teaforthree he will become the most costly Welsh-trained horse in history for bookies.

Punters in Wales are set to lump on a massive £5 million on the world's most famous horse race - and the biggest single bet in Wales on Joe Farrell is believed to be a hefty £5,000 so far - with more to come.

Curtis herself took to social media today to say she was 'delighted' Joe Farrell was getting a run.
