Milford Haven Golf Club have held the grand opening of their redesigned 18th hole with a competition for members that was played last Wednesday.

The club held a special function to mark the opening which the Mayor of Milford Haven, Councillor Rose Gray, officially opened on Tuesday, April 2nd.

On the following day a number of Wales’ Grand Slam heroes attended to meet and greet club officials and try the new 18th out for themselves. A Texas Scramble tournament also took place as teams of four battled for prizes.

Welsh rugby internationals also attended on the Wednesday, with household names such as Ken Owens, Jonathan Davies, Rob Evans, Gareth Davies, Samson Lee, Scott Williams and Scott Quinnell representing Oil 4 Wales.

The hole was designed by Marc Westenborg a well-known and experienced course developer.

A water feature has been added and current bunkers removed with two new ones added.

Club captain David Evans said: “Thankyou to all the sponsors, guests, members for attending and to the Welsh rugby union stars who kindly opened the ‘Fountain View’ new 18th hole.

“I can only thank you all for joining out club’s journey in pursuing our vision to the best golf club in the west Wales.”

The club, situated at Woodbine House, celebrated its centenary in 2013.
