Manderwood Pembrokeshire League Division 2: Hakin United 2nds 5-0 Kilgetty

Hakin 2nds gave outgoing manager Scott Davies the perfect send off as they hammered promotion chasing Kilgetty at The Obs - denting the promotion hopes of the visitors in the process.

The Vikings put five past Johnston last Thursday and repeated that same scoreline tonight with a convincing display.

Kilgetty threatened early when Henry Lawrence had a volley well blocked by Hakin full back Tom Evans, and at the other end Shane Walsh stung the palms of Jake Woodhead with an angled shot.

And 17 minutes in Hakin led when Walsh whipped in a super cross that Bradley Barrett met first time with his left foot to score.

Ben Aldred then volleyed inches wide for Hakin from long range and 10 minutes before half time it was 2-0, Barrett slicing a shot into the path of Evans who made no mistake at the back post.

The visitors thought they'd got back into it when Jordan Gorman squared for Oliver Griffiths to tap in but he was flagged offside, and then Ross Hurst had a header cleared off the line by Hakin veteran Terry Bevan.

But the second half was one sided and the Vikings made it 3-0 in style with 15 minutes to go, Barrett smashing a shot home from 30 yards.

It was manager Davies himself who then came on to fittingly score a penalty, and in the dying moments Evans completed the win with his second and Hakin's fifth.

The result increases the chances of a third placed finish for Hakin having won the title last year, while Kilgetty face another tough test on Thursday away to Merlins Bridge 2nds.
