Division 1: Whitland (207-5) drew with Haverfordwest (275-4)

There was yet another century for the prolific Simon Holliday as Haverfordwest got the better of their match at Whitland.

After The Town had been asked to bat, No 3 Holliday smashed 12 fours and six sixes in his knock of 125 not out.

That came after Mike Jones and Jake Merry had put on 76 for the opening wicket, Jones hitting four boundaries in his 34 and Merry seven fours in his 49 before both fell to Dylan Blain (2-67 in 10 overs).

Lee Summons made 18 before being clean bowled by Nathan Evans (1-60) and Adam James blasted 24 (20 in boundaries) before going in the same way to Geraint Jones (1-56), as the visitors posted a massive 275-4.

The Borderers never got close to getting within ‘losing draw’ range but Haverfordwest could only take five wickets.

Opener Jack Bowen cracked five fours in a quickfire 26 before Dylan Blain and Paul Davies moved the score to 136-1 before the latter was caught by Ben Field off Lee Summons for 37 (four fours and a six).

Blain was then caught and bowled by Holliday for 74, having hit 10 fours and a maximum, and the all rounded then had Evans stumped first ball by Jack Scriven.

Jones (23) was also run out after sharp work by away skipper Danny Potter but skipper Matthew Davies ensured there was no collapse with 36 not out as his side at least took maximum batting points.
