Division 2: Haverfordwest 2nds (137-8) drew with Carew 2nds (145-8)
It was tight at The Racecourse as Carew 2nds edged hosts Haverfordwest 2nds in a nervy draw.
The Rooks batted first and made 145-8, with opener Scott Richards making 32 (two fours) and he was followed by Robbie Hicks (27) and Dai Rees (43 – three fours and a six) in giving the visitors a decent start.
But it was James Marchant who boosted the home side with bowling figures of 6-58, and he was backed up by Lewis Rhead (1-16) and Kapele Samathapane (1-18) as Carew were restricted to 145-8.
The Town’s reply was led by Nigel Morgan who hit a steady 36, while Ross Dewstowe (26), Doug Johnson (21) and John Tooze (21) all helped edge them towards their target.
But Carew held their nerve as Kerry Waters led the bowling with 3-25, while Barry Evans took 2-25 and, Iori and Rob Hicks, and Aaron Hinman all took a wicket each – leaving Haverfordwest 9 runs short of victory.
