Harrison Allen Bowl Round 1: Narberth (137-6) beat Llanrhian (131-7) by 4 wickets

It went down to the very last ball, but 2018 semi finalists Narberth avoided a first round shock as Rhodri Dyer launched a six off the final ball of the game to grab victory for his side over Llanrhian.

The Division Three side batted first and posted 131-7, and the hosts were left needing just one at the death for victory as Dyer cracked an Anthony Couzens delivery over the rope to seal a dramatic victory.

Llanrhian had earlier been helped to their total by good knocks from opener Paul Lewis (25) and No 7 Dafydd Williams (31), as wickets fell to Lewy Davies (2-24), David Johns (1-49), Dyer (2-30) and Shay Norcross (1-24).

Narberth soon fell to 17-3 in their reply as the top three of Davies (1), Ritchie Adams (0) and Kyle Quartermaine (10) all went cheaply. Davy Johns also fell for 3 but Jordan Howell hit 47 (five fours and a six) to help turn the tide, and he was joined by Kyle Williams who hit 40 (also five fours and a six).

After those two went it was up to Dyer and Mike Johns (3 not out) to finish the job, and Dyer hit a boundary off the penultimate ball to tie the scores.

He then finished the job in perfect style to end 16 not out and edge the Division Two team through.

For Llanrhian, wickets fell to Williams (1-37), Tom Clarke (3-29), Karl Davies (1-42) and Couzens (1-20).
