Llangwm (89 for 1) beat Lawrenny (87 all out) by 9 wickets

Llangwm’s first success of the campaign caused something of a surprise as they shot out fourth-placed Lawrenny for a paltry 87 and with Joe Kiff again in fine fettle reached their target in only 17 overs.

After a good start to the campaign Lawrenny’s inconsistencies appeared as they reached 35 without loss, lost three wickets at that total and with only Harry Thomas (36), James Skeels (22) and Steve Campbell (11) managing double figures.

For Llangwm, skipper Ollie Davies certainly led by example as he bowled up the slope to claim fine figures of 4 for 4 alongside his namesake Noah ((2 for 27), Matthew Kiff (2 for 37) and Joe Phillips (2 for 11).

Then Llangwm openers Joe Kiff and Will Beresford showed their opponents how it should be done as they put on 69 before Kiff was bowled by Brad McDermott-Jenkins for a speedy 54 that included six fours and four sixes.

Beresford supported with 27 not out and was joined by Noah Davies in hitting off the remaining runs as Llangwm finally showed their collective capability – whilst Lawrenny in sharp contrast certainly had a day to forget!
