Pembroke County Cricket Club Division 1: Saundersfoot (207-7) beat Whitland (138 all out) by 69 runs

Saundersfoot continued their new found momentum as they backed up their shock win at Neyland last week with this more comfortable victory over Whitland.

After no wins in the first four weeks, they are now out of the bottom two with Tom Mansbridge (58) and Nick Cope (54) again laying the platform as the home side batted first.

Sam Franklin (22) also helped his side to 207-7 in their allotted 45 overs as skipper Matthew Davies (3-46), Jonathan Thomas (2-43), and Nathan Evans (2-73) took wickets for Whitland.

Away opener Jack Bowen tried to get the run chase going with a quickfire 40 while the in-form Geraint Jones hit 14 off just four balls, with two fours and a six before getting out.

It was Davies who top scored though with 43 but the rest of the line-up struggled, and after Danny Caine (3-52) and Franklin (3-53) had taken wickets it was left to Cope to finish the job as he took three wickets for just a single run.

Despite defeat, Whitland stay sixth.
