Division 1: Carew (131-3) beat Llangwm (130 all out) by 7 wickets

Carew kept in touch at the top while deepening Llangwm’s relegation worries at the same time.

Another top all round performance from Tom Davies left the third placed Rooks 42 points off leaders Neyland ahead of crucial game with Lawrenny on Saturday, who lie four points above them.

But Llangwm are now 50 points adrift at the bottom having not won since May 18th.

Davies was again pivotal with bat and ball as his 2-22 in ten overs helped restrict the visitors to 130 all out before he hit 65 not out as the hosts won with more than ten overs in hand.

Llangwm batted first and had five batsmen who made solid starts but no-one was able to go on and score heavily as leg spinner Ceri Brace led the way with 4-31, backed up by swing bowler Simon Wood (3 for 13).

Davies (2- 22) and Sion Jenkins (1- 43) helped clean things up in the 43rd over after earlier cameos from Will Beresford (17), Joe Kiff (16), Noah Davies (26), Richard Brock (26) and Matthew Kiff (19).

Carew did lose early wickets as Llangwm skipper Ollie Davies (2- 29) shifted Tim Hicks for 4 in the third over, caught by Joe Kiff, and then Ian Sefton for a duck in his next over as Luke Brock took the catch.

But Nick Scourfield (25) and Davies, who hit 11 fours in his unbeaten knock, restored order before Luke Brock (1-21) dismissed Scourfield - but Luke Hicks (20 not out) helped finish the job.
