Division 3: Neyland (238-0 declared) beat Burton 2nds (87 all out)

They hogged the batting for 35 overs - but their teammates didn’t mind a bit.

Callum Power and Lewis Page put together a momentous opening partnership on Saturday to help Neyland 2nds register an 11th straight league win.

Power was on 116 not out, and Page unbeaten on 108, when skipper Paul Miller declared with five overs to spare with his side having reached 238-0.

Power cracked 15 fours in his knock while Page hit 17 boundaries to notch his first ton for the club.

It meant Burton were always going to be up against it in their reply, and the fell to 87 all out in the 31st over despite a steady start from openers Ian Battersley (17) and Ioan Roberts (12).

But after they fell only No 5 Dan Ridge ever got going with 20 - and it was home skipper Miller who led by example with the ball with figures of 7-27 in nine overs.

There was also a run out from Power and a wicket each for Gary Lloyd and Rhys Beavis as the leaders wrapped up a 30 point win.
