Division 1: Merlins Bridge 4-0 Pennar Robins
Merlins Bridge comfortably came out on top against Pennar Robins at the Racecourse.
Chris Lloyd’s Pennar Robins’ outfit are currently sitting bottom of the table awaiting their first win and points of the campaign, whilst Simon Thomas and Gareth ‘Taffy’ Williams’ Wizards are fourth, after picking up their second league win from three starts.
Lee Hudgell opened the scoring, with a calm collected finish past Richard Evans, and the same player was also on target with the second to give his team a 2-0 cushion at half time.
The visitors competed strongly throughout the 90, but it was The Wizards who grabbed the third, as Will Haworth was completely unmarked to head home at a corner.
Late in the game the hosts got a fourth, Hudgell this time the provider as his inch perfect cross was met by a thumping far post diving header by Haworth, who joined his fellow winger in getting his second of the game.
