What could happen on Saturday is anyone's guess.

The weather forecast is poor for a start, and the first round of the West Wales Cup dominates the fixture list with 15 Pembrokeshire teams playing.

Those games are always hard to predict - with the outcomes dependant on how strong teams travel, or whether the focus is getting a result or havinga session on the away home. Ideally, you want both.

There are two Division 1 games as well so anyway, here goes nothing.

Pembrokeshire football fixtures for Saturday, October 12th:

Division 1 (2pm):

Goodwick United 3-1 Carew

It's early in the season, but this is already a big game for both.

After being called off last week, Goodwick are looking for a fourth straight win that would put them joint top (on points at least), while Carew are out to avoid a third consecutive defeat.

The Rooks actually won 3-2 at Phoenix Park last season but right now things are not clicking for them, and they followed defeat at Hakin with a 3-1 home loss to Narberth. Sam Christopher has scored in the last three league games and he, along with Jordan Richards and Scott Ferney if they all play, will stretch Goodwick at the back.

But keeping the hosts out at the other end will be difficult. Ben Adams has settled in quickly, Jordan Griffiths is in the goals and Rhys Dalling is back looking sharp.

If Carew are to mount the title challenge many, including me, expected this season then they can't afford a record of three defeats in their first five games.

But on current form, I have to go home win.

Merlins Bridge 7-0 Saundersfoot Sports

Bridge can also take advantage of Hakin and Monkton not playing, and I'd expect them to take three points here against a Saundersfoot side that is struggling early doors.

Four league and cup defeats, compounded by a key player in Richard Cope joining Kilgetty two weeks ago, has added up to a rocky period and it won't get any easier against a side rampant in winning 12-1 at St Clears last week.

There were hat tricks for Adam Hawkins, Joe Leahy, and Will Haworth in that win and The Wizards will expect to create plenty more chances tomorrow. If they click, it could be a long day for the visitors.
