Division 1: Carew 1-3 Narberth

Narberth came from behind to secure a surprise win at Carew, with all the goals coming in a highly entertaining first half.

The Rooks took the lead in the second minute, striker Sam Christopher chipping keeper Adam Frearson for the perfect start.

On the 20-minute mark the visitors squared matters, Karl Jones headed home Ashley Williams’ delivery in the box.

Ten minutes later and The Bluebirds took the lead, striker Dafydd Wright showing great composure to slot past the advancing Tom Davies.

Just before the break the visitors added their third of the game, Lloyd Hughes cut in off his wing and drilled a low shot into the far corner against his former team-mates.

There was no further scoring in the second period, but this was a terrific result for Narberth who picked up their second win from four starts.

“We played really well,” said Narberth player boss Ryan Williams.

“The lads showed good character to come from behind and pick up the win against a side like Carew, so obviously I’m delighted with the result.”
