Pembrokeshire Football League fixtures for Saturday, October 26th:

West Wales Cup Round 1 (1.45pm):

Kilgetty 3-2 Celtic Neath

The last two times I had Kilgetty to be edged out here.

With the fixture now reversed, I've turned that around. Although heavy rain is due Friday....

Division 1 (2pm):

Hakin United 3-1 Fishguard Sports

Both sides are actually playing their first league game of the month here following cup games and postponements - and both will want to pick up where they left off in September.

The Sports did play in the Senior Cup last weekend and beat Milford Athletic 6-0, Danny Hopkin scoring twice, and sit on six league points from nine. It's been a solid start to life back in the top flight.

They'll test Hakin more than people might think, but containing the likes of Woodrow and Harding won't be easy and I think The Vikings will have too much firepower.

Merlins Bridge 4-1 Clarbeston Road

It's Clarby, so god knows.

The followed up a good West Wales Cup win by losing to a Johnston side bottom of Division 2 last week, and now go to a Bridge team in rampant form.

They have racked up 30 goals in three league and cup games, and Joe Leahy and Adam Hawkins helped themselves to hat tricks in the 10-1 Senior Cup win at Pennar.

I can't see double figures Saturday, even if Dan Rees is in goal for the visitors, but they look strong favourites for three points.

Monkton Swifts 2-2 Goodwick United

I keep hearing about Monkton's injury list, and yet they keep on winning in both league and cup.

And while it's a cliche, that is what makes league champions and 15 points from 15 thus far suggests last season was no flash in the pan for Joe Lewis and co.

They could be boosted tomorrow by the return Thomas Powell after injury for their toughest test yet in this campaign.

Goodwick have ahd an uneasy two weeks, beaten by Carew before being made to work all the way by Division 2 side Tish in the Senior Cup.

And while it's early days, Wayne O'Sullivan will know his side can ill afford to lose back to back games to fellow contenders.

The last few times these sides have met there's rarely been more than a goal in it. Should be tight again Saturday.

Narberth 3-2 Neyland

Neyland were well beaten at Monkton last weekend while Narberth had their cup tie with Carew called off.

The Nomads had actually won two on the bounce in league and cup before that but Narberth are yet to lose at home this season. They will be without the suspended Kyle Quartermaine but the likes of Ben John and Dafydd Wright have been in the goals and on current form, they start slight favourites.

Pennar Robins 1-5 Carew

Traditionally in recent season, whenver Pennar have started badly they have recovered and stayed up.

But at the moment they are struggling, inevitably missing the goals of Ben Adams and at the back they have conceded 18 times in two games.

Carew didn't play last week but will still be buzzing from the win at Goddwick the previous week, and their front three of Jordan Richards, Scott Ferney and Sam Christopher will be eyeing goals here.

St Clears 2-1 Saundersfoot Sports

Two more teams to have endured a difficult start meet in one of those 'six pointer' jobs.

St Clears did at least build some momentum on Saturday as Sean Seymour-Davies scored twice in a 5-0 cup win over Cosheston, while Saundersfoot were called off.

The Saints have just a point from four games so far - which is one more than Saundersfoot. Home advantage swings me on this but regardless, even at this stage both sides will see this as must win.
