Bethan Moore is proving herself to still very much be a late master of the kayak.

Aged 50, and still a member of Haverfordwest Kayak Club, she was runner up in two separate classes (Ladies HP; Ladies Masters IC) at the 2019 British Surf Kayaking Championships at the end of October.
Competing at Freshwater West, the results added to her recent meteoric rise in the sport.

Bethan only started kayaking in 2017, and entered her first competition in 2018 - the Welsh Championships where she finished in fourth place.

Since then she has gone on to hone her skills, culminating in her success against stiff opposition from kayakers from Guernsey, Isle of Man, Ireland, Scotland and England in this year’s British Championships.

Bethan told Telegraph Sport:  “It just goes to prove you’re never too old.

“I hope my success inspires other women to take up kayaking. A big thank you to all who have helped me to achieve this success - you know who you are.”
